Dr. Seke Manase Ephraim Kazuma

Dr Seke M. E. Kazuma is a consultant Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliar-Pancreatic Surgical Oncologist based at Ndola Teaching Hospital in Ndola City of Copperbelt Province of Zambia. He is the Head of Department of Surgery and also heads Surgical Oncology at the hospital. Dr Seke M. E. Kazuma is passionate about research and enjoys writing research papers, advancing evidence based Surgical practice in Africa, conducting skills trainings and teaching. He is interested in surgical oncology of the gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliar-Pancreatic system. His hobbies include listening to music, watching movies and body building.

Dr. Robert K. Parker
Assistant Editor of the East and Central Journal of Surgery (ECAJS)
Dr. Robert K. Parker received his undergraduate education at Purdue University in chemical engineering and his MD from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2009. He earned his MPH from Harvard University. Dr. Parker did his surgical training at Brown University and afterwards joined the faculty where he is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery.
In 2015, Dr. Parker moved to Kenya to serve at Tenwek Hospital. While there, he has been the Head of Clinical Research, the Executive Secretary for the Institutional Ethics Review Committee, and has been involved in surgical training and care. Dr. Parker serves on the research committee of the Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons, the International Relations Committee of the American College of Surgeons, and the research and quality committee of the Association of Academic Global Surgery.
Dr. Parker’s clinical research interests are in gastrointestinal cancers and diseases, surgical quality improvement in variable-resource contexts, surgical education and assessment, and the intersections of public health and surgical disease. He has mentored numerous surgical residents and students in conducting research projects. His bibliography lists over 40 journal articles and book chapters. He has served on the editorial board of the East and Central Africa Journal of Surgery and the Surgical Foundations for Basic Science for the College of Surgeons of East, Central, and Southern Africa.
