COSECSA/RCSI Scholarship Award for COSECSA Programme Directors 202 2 /2 3

Call for Applications

The COSECSA Strategic Plan, 2021-2025, in a bid to achieve its goals 1 and 2, underscores the need to support Programme Directors who are responsible for carrying out the day-to-day training and implementation of the COSECSA programme at each accredited hospital.

  • Given the above, RCSI and COSECSA Collaboration Programme are delighted to award Scholarships for the RCSI Professional Diploma in Clinical Leadership programme (PDiCL). The course is part-time and has a duration of nine (9) months. Successful completion of this programme will lead to the award of a Professional Diploma in Clinical Leadership from the RCSI and National University of Ireland.
  • The COSECSA/RCSI will award four (4) Scholarships to COSECSA Programme Directors for the Academic year 2022/2023.
  • COSECSA encourages female applicants to apply.
  • The Course begins on 1st October 2022 and ends on 30th June 2023.

Course details

  • The Professional Diploma in Clinical Leadership (Online) is a unique innovative interdisciplinary specialist postgraduate programme designed for busy healthcare professionals who wish to develop their leadership skills. Furthermore, the Programme fosters collaborative learning among multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals and the health care organisation.
  • This evidence-based, innovative programme, incorporates best-in-class international thinking derived from advances in positive psychology and positive organisational scholarship and is delivered in a format blending online content, onsite sessions and interactive webinars to offer a collaborative and supported participant experience.
  • All webinars last one hour and workshops are 2.5 – 3 hours. Live sessions will be recorded

The Application Process

  • To apply, you are required to complete the application form, enclosing an up-to-date CV.
  • Please read the Terms & Conditions of the application form before applying.
  • The application should be submitted through the COSECSA System form below. Do not apply through RCSI.
  • Late applications will not be accepted.

Terms & Conditions

  • The scholarship is for the 2022 intake of the Professional Diploma in Clinical Leadership.
  • The successful candidate must meet all the academic requirements to enter the programme.
  • Failure to comply with the stated deadlines will result in automatic disqualification.
  • A completed application form, including the < 500 words written submission plus a CV is required. Any submission, which runs to over 500 words in length, will be automatically disqualified from the competition.
  • The closing date is 30th July 2022.
  • Short-listed applicants who are not contactable by telephone and /or email addresses that are indicated on their application form will be automatically disqualified from the competition.
  • Applicants cannot submit more than one application.
  • The winning candidates will be informed shortly after the closing date. Should the winning applicants fail to take up the Scholarship in a timely manner the offer will pass to another candidate based on the judgment of the Scholarship Board/relevant interview panel.
  • RCSI / COSECSA reserves the right not to award the Scholarship if candidates of the required caliber are not identified. A decision is final and correspondence will not be entered into.
  • Candidates must be available to commence the PDiCL in October 2022 with a letter of support from their employer and must attend all scheduled dates for the programme.
  • The successful candidates must agree to participate in specified publicity if/when applicable.
  • RCSI / COSECSA will not be in a position to provide feedback to any unsuccessful applicant regarding the reasons for non-selection for interviews.
  • For the final selection process shortlisted applicants must be available to attend an interview should it be required.
