TERMS OF REFERENCE | COSECSA CHAMPION
BACKGROUND
To increase the health workforce in the East, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA) region, COSECSA developed a Strategic Plan for 2021-2025 to achieve the desired goals, and one of the indicators of the COSECSA Framework is to increase the number of trainees and graduates through the COSECSA Collegiate model of training. On this note, COSECSA management has decided to contract five (5) Fellows (COSECSA Champions) from the COSECSA Member Countries on a first come first serve basis to be selected and take up this project task.
As part of the pursuit of COSECSA’s objectives, COSECSA in collaboration with the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (RCSI) would like to engage the services of COSECSA Fellows to sensitize and attract potential trainees to the 2022 intake that closes on 31st December 2021.
ROLE
The Role of the Selected Champions will be to undertake strategic sensitization activities to ensure that COSECSA’s reach is maximized, spread awareness of COSECSA and ensure it is advertised at full capacity. These will be good COSECSA Ambassadors in their respective countries. The Champions will be provided with information about COSECSA in form of flyers, documents, presentations which they will distribute/present/engage with to the students.
OBJECTIVE
The selected Champions will be expected to visit Higher Learning institutions/Medical Schools or Hospital Training Institutions in their respective countries and market COSECSA at the highest standards in order to attract potential trainees to join the COSECSA Programme.
DELIVERABLES
- Identify and visit at least 4 suitable institutions to market COSECSA.
- Present to the audience of potential trainees.
- Engage with the audience through Q & A sessions
- Connect with not only potential trainees but also potential Stakeholders/Partners.
- The exact number attracted in this sensitization exercise will be tracked through the College Application system
DOCUMENTATION
The Champions are also expected to take photos/or videos of their gatherings for evidence-based purposes, provide an in-depth report on the project task as well as share any relevant communications obtained from the project task.
BUDGET
Each Champion will be paid $1500, this includes a Consultation fee of $1300 and transport costs of $200 to and from the identified institutions.
TIMELINE
This Terms of Reference is effective from (16th August 2021) and continues until the (31st December 2021.)
