The Burundian Association of Surgery and 2nd Chance, with the support of COSECSA, are pleased to announce the Advanced Reconstructive Surgery Workshop, taking place from 24–29 November 2025 at the Centre Hospitalo-Universitaire de Kamenge in Bujumbura, Burundi.
This supervised, hands-on surgical workshop will bring together 10 future COSECSA plastic surgeons (FCS candidates) to perform reconstructive procedures for Burundian patients with urgent functional needs. These procedures will focus on addressing burn contractures, congenital deformities, and trauma sequelae, among other complex reconstructive challenges.
The workshop aims to strengthen local surgical capacity and enhance the skills of plastic surgery trainees, ensuring sustainable access to quality reconstructive care within the region.

Selection will be based on clinical need and surgical fitness.

L’Association Burundaise de Chirurgie et 2nd Chance, avec le soutien de COSECSA, ont le plaisir d’annoncer l’Atelier Avancé de Chirurgie Reconstructrice, qui se tiendra du 24 au 29 novembre 2025 au Centre Hospitalo-Universitaire de Kamenge, à Bujumbura.
Sous supervision médicale, cet atelier pratique réunira 10 futurs chirurgiens plasticiens COSECSA (candidats FCS) qui réaliseront des interventions reconstructrices au profit de patients burundais présentant des besoins fonctionnels prioritaires — tels que les séquelles de brûlures, les malformations congénitales et les traumatismes anciens.
Les orientations de patients sont les bienvenues.
La sélection sera effectuée en fonction du besoin clinique et de la capacité opératoire.
