The College of Surgeons of East, Central and Southern Africa (COSECSA) is pleased to announce the Pre-Conference WALANT (Wide Awake Local Anesthesia No Tourniquet) Surgical Workshop. This hands-on training will introduce surgical residents to the WALANT technique — a safe, cost-effective, and affordable approach particularly suited for low-resource settings.

Who Can Apply
3rd, 4th, and 5th year residents in General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, and Plastic Surgery (2025).
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit their CV, referees, hospital name and year of study, WALANT logbook (if available), and a one-page letter (max 500 words) addressing their motivation, plans to implement WALANT, and commitment to data collection after the course.
