In response to the urgent need to expand a competent laparoscopic workforce, COSECSA is partnering with the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) to bring Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery (FLS) certification to the COSECSA region.
The FLS online curriculum providesĀ a comprehensive set of cognitive knowledge and manual skills to guide surgical traineesĀ and practicing surgeons in the performance of basic laparoscopic surgery, in the safe learning environment of simulation. The FLS test is a validated exam with a written and a manual skills portion. Over 32,000 surgeons across the globe haveĀ taken this test to certify their laparoscopic proficiency.

COSECSA/SAGES is offering the opportunity to take the FLS exam December 2-5th at the University of Zimbabwe International Centre for Surgical Simulation at a reduced price ofĀ $150 (a $500 USD value).Ā
