The Women in Surgery in Africa bring together women surgeons of all specialities i.e General Surgery, ENT, Opthalmology, Orthopedics, OMF, Plastics & Reconstruction, Breast & Endocrine, GI & HPB, Cardiothoracic & Vascular, Trauma, Urology, Anesthesia, Neurosurgery & Paediatric Surgery.
At the 2023 High tea: We advocated for Mentorship, continued support for each other, Fraternity and networking as we navigate the challenges specific to women.
This year’s Project is Support for Breast Cancer Patients & Survivors. we had insightful talks on: Breast health: Hope & Surviving Breast Cancer from our breast cancer survivor Dr. Margret Okello Senior Consultant Anesthesiologist, Balancing Life & Go to solutions for burn out by Dr. Olivia Kituuka,, Mental Health & Wellness by Dr. Susan Nakireka & Preparation for Retirement by COSECSA President Ms. Jane Fualal.
